There are several things you can do on your Android but there’s more you can do when you have you have this option enabled. So it speeds up your device by turning animations off, to obtain better quality rendering for good gameplay, there are plenty of features you can enable from the Android Developer Options sections.
It should be taken into notice that this is not for everyone – we all have this thing in our heads that we will mess up our mobile devices. Well, you should not worry, one can just backtrack and can change the setting back.

1. Enable and Disabling USB Debugging
You must have noticed that most of the Android-related tools which are on your PC will definitely require you to enable USB Debugging for the tool to run properly. If you will not enable it, then the establishment of a connection between your device and your desktop by the tools cannot be done.
Follow the given steps to use USB debugging:
- Head towards Settings > Developer Options.
- Mark on the USB Debugging checkbox.
- Select OK when you get a message saying “Allow USB Debugging?”
2. Create Desktop Backup Password
You should always create a password for your backup in the Android developer options before creating a backup using Android tools on your desktop. If you want to put protection on your backup so that it remains safe from accessing, you can follow these steps:-

So before you head towards creating a backup using Android tools on your desktop, you have an option to create a password for your backup in the developer options. It gives you protection on your backup which can be accessed easily.
- Head towards Settings > Developer Options.
- Click on Desktop backup password.
- You have to fill in the current password, then type and retype the new password for a full backup.
3. Tweak Animation Settings
When you do the transition from screen to screen on your Android device in Android developer mode, you will notice that there is an animation added in between. Now, you can turn off the notification or speed up the animation. To make the animation fast, you ought to choose a lower number.
- Head to Settings > Developer Options.
- Now scroll down and look for the Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale.
- Then adjust the scale for the animation you want. The lower the number, the faster the animation.
4. Enable MSAA For OpenGL Games
If you are the one who plays games on your Android device and if you are playing it using high-quality graphics and animation effects, you can force enable MSAA to obtain a higher quality game with high-quality graphics. Generally, this feature is turned off in some of the games because it will drain the battery quickly.
If you want to use FXAA:
- Go to Settings > Developer Options.
- Click on Force 4x MSAA to enable it.
5. Allow Mock Location
You need an app for faking your current GPS location. But in order to use that app, you need to allow Mock Location for the app to work. You can enable Mock Location in these two given steps.
- Go to Settings > Developer Options.
- Look for Allow Mock Location and tick on it to enable.
6. Stay Awake While Charging
While charging your phone, your phone will automatically turn off the screen but in case you want your screen to stay awake, you can do that by following these steps.
- Head towards Settings > Developer Options.
- Click on Stay Awake to tick it, which will enable this feature.
7. Display CPU Usage Overlay

8. Don’t Keep App Activities
One should know that your Android app activities are still in progress even after you have exited from that application. Most of your application relies on locally cached data on an Android phone. - Head to Settings > Developer Options.
- Tab on Don’t keep activities.
- You can go back anytime by unchecking the disable.
9. Switch Dalvik To ART
Art is a new experimental runtime by Google which is going to replace Dalvik in the near future because it is faster. Well, If you want to test run ART on your device, that you will need an Android device running at least Kit Kat 4.4 and above. To do so, follow these steps:-
- Head to Settings > Developer options.
- Click on Select runtime and choose Use ART.
- You should note that ART is still experimental and not many apps support it, hence it may turn your device slower. If you ever experience this, you can switch back to Dalvik.
10. Enable Wireless Display Certifications
This particular option is only useful to you if you own a Miracast-ready display (or something else of a similar technology), to transfer your Android content to your TV. If you want to watch YouTube videos on your Miracast-ready display, you will need to enable Wireless Display Certifications. And for that, follow the steps below.
- Head towards Settings > Developer options.
- Then you can look for Wireless display certification and check it.
