As Android Operating Systems are used by various phone manufacturing companies, the steps involved in blocking a number can vary widely. Moreover, if you own a phone that uses an older version of Android like Marshmallow, then those phones do not offer the “block caller on cell phone” feature.

In such cases, you can try installing a third-party app on your phone to block a number.

  • If you have a Samsung Phone then you can tap on the “Details” options.

How to hide your own number’s caller ID?

If in addition to controlling the incoming calls, you can also choose to block your caller ID during an outing call. Further, if you make an emergency call or toll-free calls then your caller ID cannot be blocked.

You can block your caller id on the recipient’s phone just by adding a prefix “*67” (do not include the double quotes) before the phone number on your cell phone. This code is a universal command to deactivate the Caller’s ID.
