Based on the number of taps the options such as pause, play can be controlled. It also automatically stops when taken out of the ear and plays once placed within the ear. How To Connect AirPods To A Chromebook?
Now that we have a clear idea about AirPods and Chromebooks, let us proceed with the techniques to connect AirPods to a Chromebook. The steps to connect the Chromebook with AirPods might be simple in words but the process isn’t that seamless when compared to connecting them to any of the Apple computers or devices. However, both Apple AirPods and Chromebooks are designed to function beyond their line of products hence Airpods and Chromebooks can be used to get the same experience.
Here are the detailed steps to connect both the devices and further check to confirm proper connectivity.
Step 1: Network menu
First, to connect AirPod with a Chromebook, open the network menu located at the right-hand corner at the bottom. To do the same, click on the network logo or Wi-Fi icon next to the clock and the battery icons. When the new dialog box of the Network menu opens, click on the arrow corresponding to the Bluetooth icon and check whether the Bluetooth is activated. To check this the Bluetooth icon must be blue if switched on otherwise it would be grey.
Step 2: Choose the Bluetooth device
After activating the Bluetooth, from the list of available devices in the nearby location. Form the discoverable devices search for the AirPods in the list. If the AirPods are not listed in the discoverable device, press the pair button of the AirPods, which is located at the back of the headphones. Now refresh or scan and check the list once again. Then click on the AirPods that would be visible in the Bluetooth-connected devices.
Step 3: Establish the connectivity
To select the AirPods, check for the headphone icon from the devices list. After choosing it a new pop-up menu would appear stating, ‘Paired devices’ which means the connectivity has been successfully established between both the devices.
Step 4: Confirm the connectivity
Once all the steps mentioned above are successfully done, the paired devices menu would show your headphones confirming that the connection is successful or the headphones have been detected by the Chromebook. Now, you would receive a notification in the Chromebook stating “ Bluetooth device (Name of Your Airpods) has been paired and is now available to all users”. This notification is for the users to confirm the connectivity.

The established connection can be stopped by disconnecting it. This can be done either by turning off the Bluetooth in the Chromebook or press the button on the AirPods continuously. The button can be used to make it available to other devices once again.

- Bluetooth linked with other devices
One of the reasons behind AirPods not connecting with Chromebook is that it might be connected with any other devices which were previously paired. Check for your iPhone or iPad and switch off their Bluetooth connection.
- Reset the AirPods
Another method is to reset the AirPods. To reset the AirPods, place them in their case and then hold the case’s pair button after closing it. The light within the case would change from amber to green, this indicates the AirPods have been reset. Now try pairing it once again with the Chromebook.
