The smartphone market is more competitive than ever before. There are many brands available in the market that are providing the best features at different price points. Prices are divided into three categories- Budget, Medium, and luxury. Undoubtedly, the category where users can find the best of the best smartphones is Luxury. When we talk about luxury smartphones one brand sets itself apart from the rest, Apple. Over the years, Apple inc. have produced some truly breathtaking smartphones. Adding to their ever-growing collection is the latest iPhone 13.
In this article we will talk about the features and price of the iPhone 13 and whether it's worth the investment or not.
Here is a list of some iPhone 13 features:
Apple doesn't change its device too often, so the iPhone 13 retains the iPhone 12 redesign. Each model has flat sides made from aluminum positioned between glass plates. There are not many changes to point out between 2020 and 2021 iPhones beyond the rearrangement of camera modules and new color options on the entry-level model.
The speaker grill is higher on the latest model, thanks to the new notch design. This means some cases that fit the iPhone 12 may disturb the speaker on the new iPhone.
One of the most prominent design changes that users will notice will be that the notch is smaller on the new iPhone. Apple has finally reduced the notch size by 20%, after years of using it to house the Face ID components. The smaller notch size offers slightly more content viewing space without changing much about what information is displayed on the screen. The dimensions of the iPhone 13 are mostly the same though they are slightly heavier and thicker.

The iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch screen, and the iPhone 13 mini has a 5.4-inch screen. Both use Apple's Ceramic Shield cover glass, which gives additional drop protection.
The Super Retina XDR display is 28% brighter up to 1200 nits for HDR and 800 nits for regular content. The high pixel density and P3 color gamut mean text will pop, videos and photos will appear sharper. The company reserved the new ProMotion variable refresh displays for its pro models. Other iPhones retain the 60Hz refresh rate like previous models.
Apple didn't apply any changes on the rear wide-angle camera, it uses the same 12MP sensor and f/ 1.6 aperture. Thanks to the new diagonal camera position, the new wide lens has sensor-shift optical image stabilization. It captures 47% more light than before according to Apple. The biggest update is in the ultra-wide-angle camera. Its low-light performance is far better than the iPhone 12. It is also capable of shooting night mode photos for the first time.
True Depth Camera System
The true depth camera system now fits at a 20 percent smaller space than the previous versions. Users have asked for a smaller notch or its removal ever since the launch of the iPhone X. There are no changes in Face ID systems. It has six different face sensors used to scan a user's face for biometric security.
The device includes a flood illuminator, infrared camera, dot projector, ambient light sensor, and selfie camera. The selfie camera is also similar to the iPhone 12 models, though image quality has been improved with the installation of the A15 Bionic processor. The iPhone 13 selfie camera is also capable of Photographic Styles for photos and Cinematic Mode video.
The A15 is a custom Apple Silicon processor built on the 5nm process with an advanced ISP, a faster Neural Engine, and a faster CPU. This helps to produce better photos, improved app processing speeds, and faster algorithmic computational skills. The advancements in machine learning intelligence and speed increases allow many new computational achievements, like the Neural Engine computing 15.8 trillion operations per second.
The company says this allows for features like the new Photographic Styles and Cinematic mode. Apple has different A15 bionic chips for standard and pro versions. The key difference seems to be the 5-core GPU. Due to the difference in computing power, some features like ProRes recording are restricted to the pro devices. The battery life also lasts one hour longer than the previous model’s thanks to the new A15 bionic processor.
Apple has been offering different color options for its standard phones for quite some time. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini come in a series of new colors like Starlight (a mixture between silver and gold), Midnight (black), Pink, Blue, and red.
There is some overlap between the previous generations and iPhone 13 when it comes to color, which came in White, Black, Blue, Green, red, and Purple. But the Starlight and Pink colors are new additions and the red is more vivid while the blue is also a lighter shade.
The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 are being sold alongside the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. The Pro models offer better features and build quality that isn't available with the more affordable iPhones. Some of the additional features of iPhone Pro and Pro max are as follows:
