Full backup

As the name suggests, full backup your entire drive, meaning every file and folder. So every time you want to do a full backup, all of your data will be backed up. One little disadvantage of this kind of backup is that it backs up every trivial and redundant file and folder on your PS4 drive, regardless of whether you need it or not.

Hence, this kind of data backup is suitable for the first time only, else it starts taking up the storage of your PS4 device.

Incremental backup

This comes after you have done your full backup. This kind of backup will not re-backup the files or folders that were already backed up during the process of the full backup. Hence, it takes less time and less storage and also reduces the backup data.

You can perform this kind of data on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on your need and urgency.

Differential backup

Also known as a cumulative backup, this comes after incremental backup and backs up only the data or those files and folders that were changed or modified since the last incremental backup. This takes more time than incremental backup and is a little slow.
