How To Remove And Update The Corrupt Display Or Graphics Driver?

However, you might require administrative privileges to complete these steps.

1. To Uninstall the Drivers using the Device Manager

  1. Open the “Device manager” either by searching in the start menu text box or press the Windows key plus “R” on your keyboard to open the run prompt. Once it’s open, type “devmgmt.msc” on the text box and press the enter key.
  2. Look for the Display Adapters option and open it.
  3. Right-click on the Nvidia graphics driver or on the adapter to open the list menu.
  4. Once the list menu opens, click on the “Uninstall” option in it.
  5. Restart the computer.

After the uninstall process is completed, windows should install the required driver using the Windows Update system automatically. If you want you can even install it manually using the  Update Driver option.

2. To Uninstall the Drivers from the Control Panel

Nvidia offers a control panel that helps you to optimize a few display settings. After you remove the driver from the device manager, you can remove the original equipment manufacturer or OEM software from your device as well. Follow the steps given below to remove the OEM software.

  1. In the start menu text box or search box, type Control panel and select the application from the result list. Open it.
  2. After this, go to the “Programs and Features” section and then to the “Add or Remove Programs”.
  3. Now, find the Nvidia’s Driver Program and select it and then uninstall it.

You might have to install the OEM software and driver again to make sure that your graphics card is completely utilized.
